Kayaking at Achill Outdoor Education & Training Centre

This is a fast and exciting activity which allows the paddler to explore rivers, lakes and seas in a small versatile craft.  Nowadays, sitontop kayaks make it very easy to learn the various strokes and skills without fear of capsize or confinement.

As you progress you can transfer to a kayak with  closed cockpits and learn how to self right in the event capsize.  The world is your oyster as you learn to surf in kayaks, run the rapids in local rivers and tour the coastline.

All our courses adhere to the guidelines recommended by the Irish and British Canoe Unions.
